Norton Orchard Community Garden

Come along and grow in Norton

We’ve created a community garden where people from the Teesside area can come and grow fruit and vegetables, while learning and sharing knowledge about sustainable growing.

The types of things we’re doing are:

  • Sowing seeds

  • Preparing and planting beds

  • Sharing info on what to grow, how and when

  • Growing and sharing food

  • Saving seeds to share with the local community

  • Giving away food to food banks

  • Enjoying a cuppa and chat

This year, we’re planning on running more formal learning sessions and events, a seed and plant swap and a potato harvest event called ‘Dig for Gold!’.

The garden is a safe, accessible space for anyone interested in growing to just come along.

We’ve been meeting a couple of times a month during the winter months, but we’ll meet more regulary once the spring lands, and we have some sun and warmth.

Sessions are on Sunday mornings from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

The next sessions in 2026 will be on:

  • Sunday 8th February

  • Sunday 15th February

  • Sunday 22nd Februrary

  • Sunday 1st March

There is no pressure to be there for all of the session, or for every time we meet, just as and when you want to come along.
